Moline, IL, May 15, 2013 - Elliott Aviation, a leader in a diverse set of business aviation services has developed specialized tooling and is now equipped to repair Beechjet main landing gear air frame trunnion bearing journals. Elliott Aviation’s capability of repairing the trunnion bearing journals is accommodated by a custom set of tooling designed by Accessory Shop Manager, Brian McKenzie. In April, McKenzie provided AOG support for an aircraft in Venezuela requiring this repair. Restoration to manufacturer specification requires up to a ten day process.

Should the main bearing journals require this retrofit, the aircraft will need to be repaired in a timely fashion to remain airworthy. Many times, this repair requires a mobile AOG team as the aircraft is not capable of relocation. Elliott Aviation’s solution includes a series of reamers, specialized bushings and NDT capability.

“With most business aircraft operations, remaining airworthy is critical to profitability and/or customer satisfaction,” McKenzie said. “In the event this bearing journal repair is required, prompt response, precision alignment and timely completion are essential.”

Elliott Aviation is currently scheduled for three more repairs, including an AOG repair in San Antonio, TX.
